Air Purifier Filters
There are several types of air purifier filters. Most of them work but they work differently using different technologies. Here are some well-known air purifying filters.
HEPA Filters.
In the HEPA filters, the air goes through several different layers in order to get filtered. These filters are excellent for removing certain particles from the air such as ollen, dust and dander. They are also of great benefit to people who suffer from allergy and asthma.
Activated Carbon.
These air purifier filters are made using specially treated charcoal. The carbon has the ability to attract air-borne particles and bind them permanently to it. This sort of filters can work great at removing unwanted oders and chemicals from the air.
Ionic filters.
Electricity is used here to charge air molecules. The charge forces the floating particles to stick together. Over time, these particle masses get heavier and heavier until they no longer could be borne in the air. Eventually, they fall onto the ground. These filters are great for getting rid of pollutant particles but they are not as effective in removing odors and chemicals.
All the three types of air purifier filters work well except that some are more suitable to removing oders and chemicals while others are well designed to remove particles. Before you purchase one, try to evaluate your needs first. And then choose the air purifier type that better serves those needs.
